ME Lab uses the Maths-U-See program, an evidence-based curriculum that takes a hands-on, multisensory approach to teaching maths. The program uses manipulatives and visual aids to help students build strong foundations and a deep understanding of concepts. This approach is especially effective for children with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, ASD, and cognitive or executive functioning challenges.
All children will benefit from the OG/MSL approach. It incorporates multisensory learning experiences which has proven to have long term outcomes in the development of children's Literacy skills.
Multisensory Teaching involves visual, auditory and kinaesthetic-tactile pathways that are all linked together during every session. This will ultimately improve memory and written language.
Literacy is one of many aspects of language. In order to work on Literacy skills, it's important to ensure a child has an understanding of language content and structure to support their Literacy development. MSL/OG is structured so that it incorporates both language concepts within a Literacy framework during each session.
Using the OG/MSL approach ensures children understand certain language concepts. However, the role of a Speech Pathologist isn't replaced by an OG/MSL educator and therefore it's important to work collaboratively together to support children to meet their goals.
As an experienced Primary School Teacher, MElab is able to tailor session specifically to support children with general curriculum and Numeracy skills.
